Gold and silver prices in your city on October 15: Gold and silver prices reached record all-time highs above \u20b91.27 lakh per 10 grams in the early session on October 15 (Wednesday), amid demand for safe haven investments<\/a> due to concerns over the US-China trade war.<\/p>\n

Gold has also been going strong on signals that the United States Federal Reserve (Fed<\/a>), will likely cut interest rates twice more this year.<\/p>\n

MCX gold rate opened 0.52 per cent higher at \u20b91,26,915 per 10 grams as against its previous close of \u20b91,26,256 level. The yellow metal hit a record high of \u20b91,27,500 per 10 grams level. MCX silver price opened 0.18 per cent higher at \u20b91,59,800 per kg level as against its previous close of \u20b91,59,504 level. Silver price touched an intraday high of \u20b91,61,418 level.Spot gold prices in the global markets hovered near record highs, on safe-haven demand. Overall, experts feel that gold and silver<\/a> are safe haven bets that investors can make to safeguard their portfolios in these volatile markets and with increased risk aversion. This year, gold has jumped 55 per cent year-to-date (YTD) amid economic and geopolitical concerns.<\/p>\n

Over the past 20 years, gold prices have skyrocketed by an impressive 1,200 per cent from \u20b97,638 in 2005 to over \u20b91,00,000 in 2025 (till June), and delivered positive returns in 16 of these years. Year-to-date (YTD), gold prices<\/a> have risen 31 per cent, with consistent record highs solidifying its position among 2025\u2019s top-performing asset classes and a reliable hedge.<\/p>\n

Further, silver has also proved resilient. Prices have held firmly above the \u20b91 lakh\/kg mark for the past few months. Over the past 20 years (2005-2025), the shiny metal has gained a solid 668.84 per cent.<\/p>\n

The MCX gold index was at \u20b91,26,773\/10 gm at 9.40 am on October 15, the official website showed. Meanwhile, MCX silver prices<\/a> were at \u20b91,60,274\/kg, it showed.<\/p>\n

Further, 24-carat gold was priced at \u20b91,27,000\/10 gm, according to data on the Indian Bullion Association (IBA) at 9.50 pm on October 15. Further, 22-carat gold was priced at \u20b91,16,417\/10 gms. Silver prices today are at \u20b91,60,380\/kg (Silver 999 Fine), as per the IBA website.<\/p>\n
