As fans get ready for the Season 2 finale of Gen V<\/a>, series creator and showrunner of The Boys, Eric Kripke, has given an update on a potential Season 3. In a recent interview, the former Supernatural showrunner opened up about the future of the spin-off while also sharing insight into his plans for The Boys and the franchise as a whole.<\/p>\n

Eric Kripke says he already has \u2018a plan for Gen V Season 3\u2019<\/p>\n

While speaking to TheWrap<\/a>, Kripke confirmed that he has already outlined plans for a third season of Gen V. However, the Hollywood veteran added that the series will only continue if the ongoing second season can amass a considerable viewership count.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a plan for Gen V Season 3, and we\u2019re psyched about it, but we need enough viewers to watch Season 2 to justify Season 3. Now\u2019s the time that they\u2019re paying attention to the numbers,\u201d Kripke noted.<\/p>\n

The Boys creator teases a \u2018fascinating universe\u2019 after Season 5<\/p>\n

In addition to discussing the prospects of Gen V Season 3, Kripke also explored the future of The Boys and its universe after the conclusion of the main show with its upcoming Season 5.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The Boys:] Mexico is just being developed right now. The pilot script is being written,\u201d Kripke said of the recently announced spin-off. He then gave a disappointing update for fans of the only animated show of The Boys\u2019 universe, stating, \u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s going to be a Season 2 of Diabolical.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talking about the forthcoming prequel series Vought Rising, Kripke said that although they \u201chave plans for a Season 2,\u201d the project will only continue if enough viewers tune in to watch the debut chapter. <\/p>\n

Kripke finally hinted at what is to come in the fan-favorite superhero franchise, stating, \u201cI think the universe post The Boys Season 5 is such a fascinating universe, there\u2019s a lot to explore. It\u2019s so much more of the wild west in terms of, like, f\u2014\u2013g anything goes \u2014 without giving anything away. And I think that would be a blast to put the Gen V kids in the middle of.\u201d<\/p>\n
