Dylan Sprouse<\/a> is using his platform for good. <\/p>\n

The former Disney Channel star made a red carpet appearance in support of his wife, model Barbara Palvin, who walked in the Victoria\u2019s Secret Fashion Show<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Sprouse used his time on the pink carpet to promote a cause near and dear to both he and Palvin: endometriosis. Endometriosis is a chronic, painful condition<\/a> where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus. It often goes undiagnosed, despite the millions of women who suffer from the debilitating condition<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI brought this endometriosis awareness pin, you want one?\u201d he said in a now-viral interview with E! News on the carpet<\/a>. \u201cBarbara just went through endo surgery and I\u2019m handing these out tonight, just to raise some awareness for that.\u201d <\/p>\n

He said that Palvin was \u201cso strong to go through that herself\u201d and spoke about what happened when she made a post about her surgery. <\/p>\n

\u201cOnce she posted about it, which she was very nonchalant posting about something that happened to her, turns out a ton of people reached out to her,\u201d Sprouse said. \u201cA ton of women who had experienced the same things, and I just don\u2019t think there\u2019s a lot of awareness about it.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSome people were even reaching out and saying that \u2018I didn\u2019t realize I had those symptoms until I got diagnosed from seeing you post about it,\u2019\u201d he added. \u201cAnd so I\u2019m hoping that if this is even a small measure of something we can do, then I hope it helps.\u201d <\/p>\n

Sprouse ended the interview by saying that Palvin was \u201cincredibly tough\u201d and that he was \u201cproud to call her my wife.\u201d <\/p>\n

Many fans praised Sprouse for using his celebrity to platform a cause rarely talked about on red carpets. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just came from Dylan\u2019s interview with E news handing out pins,\u201d one fan wrote on Palvin\u2019s Instagram. \u201cThis truly brought tears to my eyes because I feel like people do not talk about it enough. I have the surgery a little over a year ago, I was in so much pain all of the time still am but I am so extremely grateful you guys are shedding light on what endometriosis is and does.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI love this! I\u2019ve had two surgeries for my stage three endometriosis and didn\u2019t even know I might have it until I was 34 and a doctor finally took my symptoms seriously,\u201d another Redditor added. \u201cRaising awareness about the condition and supporting your partner suffering through it are both so important.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI love this because I think women in general will be super supportive of something their partner is going through publicly but you rarely see men do the same. King shit,\u201d another commenter wrote on Reddit<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Palvin spoke about her endo battle in the post that Sprouse mentioned, where she posted photos from her hospital bed<\/a> and showed bandages covering her scars from surgery. <\/p>\n

\u201cFor some years now I\u2019ve been dealing with the difficulties that can come with my periods,\u201d the model wrote in her post two weeks ago. \u201cFatigue, severe pain, heavy and irregular flow, sleepless nights on the bathroom floor. I thought this was just how it works for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Palvin said she was advised to see an endometriosis specialist, but because she\u2019s been seeing a gynecologist every year, she didn\u2019t understand the need. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut as it turns out, endometriosis can\u2019t be diagnosed with general examinations. So I went, and 3 months later I got operated on,\u201d the 32-year-old wrote. \u201cSince then I finally experienced a period that was easier, and now I know the difference.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you suspect that you could have endometriosis I encourage you to find it out. It helped me a lot, and I\u2019m grateful I did it,\u201d she said, adding that \u201cearly diagnosis and treatment are very important to prevent long-term complications, and now I\u2019m more mindful about my body to act fast if needed.\u201d <\/p>\n
