As someone who reviews phones for a living, I have a carousel of phones I\u2019m constantly rotating through \u2014 but it says a lot about a device when I actually make one of them my driver. That award goes to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7<\/a>, my absolute favorite phone this year for a number of reasons. Better yet, this flip-style phone is down to its all-time lowest price.<\/p>\n

For a limited time, Woot\u2019s offering the Galaxy Z Flip 7 for just $699<\/a>. Considering how it launched with a $1,099 price a few months back, I cannot get over this deal. That\u2019s practically a 36% off decrease in its price, which is also notable for the fact that it\u2019s unlocked when you buy it. I\u2019ve been using the Galaxy Z flip 7 for over three months now and it\u2019s still my favorite phone this year. Here\u2019s why.<\/p>\n

Way more utility than any other phone<\/p>\n

Some would argue that notebook-style foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 7<\/a> and Pixel 10 Pro Fold<\/a> have more utility than the Galaxy Z Flip 7, but I\u2019d say that\u2019s not the case. Although they\u2019re best foldable phon<\/a>e contenders, the Z Flip 7 makes it way easier to shoot photos and video of myself using the rear cameras with its large 4.1-inch outer screen.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the outer screen, it\u2019s the sort of convenience I crave when I need to use my phone in a crowded subway train. Not only can I run full apps on the phone (with the help of the Good Lock app), but its size makes it way more convenient to use one-handed \u2014 perfect for when I\u2019m holding onto a rail and using my phone.<\/p>\n

And since it folds halfway, I love setting it down on a table to watch videos. It\u2019s like having a built-in stand that angles the phone in a way that I can watch videos without holding it.<\/p>\n

As I\u2019ve mentioned already, its design makes it suitable for shooting photos and videos, but it goes beyond that. Samsung\u2019s phones have the best camera interfaces and the Z Flip 7 is no exception. In fact, it\u2019s made with creators in mind with its rich camera tools \u2014 like a manual mode to tweak the settings to exactly what I want, a flat LOG color profile, and even a dual-recording mode that beats the iPhone 17\u2019s version<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But it doesn\u2019t end there because its Galaxy AI features make it even more helpful in making my content look better. For example, I love using Generative Edit<\/a> to edit my photos with the help of AI to remove subjects and even generate new stuff with Sketch to Image<\/a>. There\u2019s also Audio Eraser<\/a> that lets me remove unwanted background noise from my videos.<\/p>\n

Truly a computer in my pocket<\/p>\n

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is the best foldable right now because it has one feature I don\u2019t see in other flagship phones \u2014 Samsung DeX<\/a> \u2014 which amplifies my productivity in such a way that it can replace my computer. I\u2019ve detailed my affinity for Samsung DeX<\/a> on other phones a number of times, but what makes it special here is that this is the first time it\u2019s available with the Z Flip line<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When I forget my work laptop at home, I often lean on Samsung DeX in the office to get me through the day. I simply plug it into my USB-C hub that\u2019s connected to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, which I then use much like any other desktop computer. Not only can I use apps in full-screen mode, but I can multitask by running several of them in different windows.<\/p>\n

These are all the reasons why I\u2019ve kept the Galaxy Z Flip 7 as my daily driver for the past three months.
