Singer-songwriter and actor-jazz pianist team up for improvised “Time After Time” at Blue Note Jazz Club<\/p>\n
\n\tCharlie Puth<\/a>\u2019s Blue Note residencies<\/a> jumped from New York City to Los Angeles this week, and in Tinseltown, he welcomed a surprise celebrity guest to the stage: Actor and jazz pianist Jeff Goldblum<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI love to give a new up-and-coming singer a chance,\u201d Puth quipped prior to welcoming Goldblum to the stage. <\/p>\n \n\tThe singer-songwriter and actor-jazz pianist linked up for a pair of songs at Friday night\u2019s performance: A rendition of the jazz standard \u201cEvery Time We Say Goodbye\u201d and an improvised take on Cyndi Lauper<\/a>\u2019s classic \u201cTime After Time\u201d:<\/p>\n \n\tGoldblum then quizzed the audience of much-younger Puth fans on which film he starred in alongside Lauper.
