\u201cI wanted to give her a more \u2018Studio 54\u2019 [style] blowout,\u201d says celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos<\/a>, who often works with Moore to craft her long lengths; usually delicately tousled or blown out to the max, though every so often, allowing for a chic chignon<\/a>, and even a brief period of experimention with some bangs. This time, Giannetos gave Moore flowing waves with a mid part, following the geometric lines of her gown. \u201cI wanted the hair to be free, with big personality,\u201d he tells Vogue. The aesthetics of the Studio 54 era\u2014sparkling, opulent, free-spirited\u2014shone through for Moore\u2019s glam.<\/p>\n

Giannetos was kept busy across the evening, also styling Penelope Cruz\u2019s hair. Cruz, who was receiving the Academy Museum\u2019s Icon Award, wore a diamond studded cream Chanel gown that accentuated her hourglass figure. For her hair, Giannetos leaned into the striking shapes of couture dressing, with high-volume curls brushed out and styled into a deep side part. \u201cThe whole look gives old Hollywood elegance,\u201d he says. Giannetos also gave Cruz a quick cut to a blunt d\u00e9colletage length, and then added some caramel highlights.<\/p>\n

Demi Moore\u2019s hip length-plus, raven-colored hair is a signature. But it wasn\u2019t always so, and it\u2019s been a long road to today\u2019s hair evolution: From her pixie cut in Ghost to the G.I. Jane buzz cut, chic bobs<\/a>, blonde bowl cuts, and bratpack-era up-dos. Giannetos has been there to keep her extra-long hair<\/a> healthy and in red carpet-ready condition.<\/p>\n

To finish, Giannetos spritzed Moore\u2019s hair with the Parfums de Marly Valaya Hair Mist<\/a>, a delicate fragrance with notes of bergamot, mandarin, and white peach. \u201cTo give an extra touch to the hair, and have everyone look at Demi\u2019s hair,\u201d Giannetos explains. A look to dance the night away in, safe in the knowledge that the hair will stay perfectly placed \u2019til the wee hours.<\/p>\n
