But in a welcome surprise, watchOS 26 brings the new hypertension feature to <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/09\/09\/hypertension-alerts-are-coming-to-these-existing-apple-watch-models\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">select older Apple Watch models<\/a> too. Here\u2019s how to set it up, and which models are compatible.<\/p>\n<p>Compatibility requirements for Apple Watch hypertension alerts<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761085088_256_hypertension-apple-watch-ultra.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1020279\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Hypertension notifications are now available in watchOS 26 for the following Apple Watch models:<\/p>\n<p>Apple Watch Series 11<\/p>\n<p>Apple Watch Series 10<\/p>\n<p>Apple Watch Series 9<\/p>\n<p>Apple Watch Ultra 3<\/p>\n<p>Apple Watch Ultra 2<\/p>\n<p>To activate the feature, you will also need an iPhone 11 or later that\u2019s running iOS 26.<\/p>\n<p>Apple has <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/117296\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">some additional listed requirements<\/a> to use the feature:<\/p>\n<p>Wrist Detection <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/105002#wrist\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">must be enabled<\/a> on your Apple Watch<\/p>\n<p>You must be 22 years or older, not pregnant, and have not been diagnosed with hypertension<\/p>\n<p>The activation process for hypertension notifications involves confirming most of these details when prompted.<\/p>\n<p>How to use hypertension feature in watchOS 26<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/hypertension-setup-health-app.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1020280\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Once you have met all of the requirements listed above, here\u2019s what <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/117296\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple says<\/a> you need to do to enable hypertension notifications.<\/p>\n<p>Follow these simple steps:<\/p>\n<p>On your iPhone, open the Health app<\/p>\n<p>Tap your\u00a0profile icon in the upper corner<\/p>\n<p>Under Features, tap \u2018Health Checklist\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Tap \u2018Hypertension Notifications\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Confirm your age and if you\u2019ve ever been diagnosed with hypertension, then tap Continue<\/p>\n<p>Tap Next to follow the onscreen prompts to learn how the notifications work<\/p>\n<p>Tap Done<\/p>\n<p>After walking through the setup process, you won\u2019t start getting hypertension notifications immediately.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s because Apple needs 30 days to gather initial data before it can accurately predict whether you might be demonstrating a pattern of hypertension.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/117296\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple explains<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Your Apple Watch can analyze data collected by the optical heart sensor and notify you if it detects a pattern of hypertension.
