\n\tMariah Carey is set to be honored<\/a> as MusiCares 2026 Person of the Year, and will be celebrated at the annual gala taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Jan. 30, 2026, just two days before the Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarey, who recently released her 16th studio album \u201cHere For It All,\u201d was chosen for her decades of contributions to music, as well as her philanthropic endeavors including providing relief to those affected by Hurricane Katrina and the Covid pandemic. She also founded Camp Mariah to help underserved youth in partnership with Fresh Air Fund, championing the advancement of health and education.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are honored to recognize Mariah Carey<\/a> as this year\u2019s MusiCares Person of the Year, a true creative force and once-in-a-generation talent,\u201d said Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy and MusiCares. \u201cHer artistry and her voice have helped shape the sound of our times. We look forward to celebrating her remarkable career on this very special night.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer joins a long list of honorees for MusiCares Person of the Year, which has been raising funds to support MusiCares programs since 1991. Past recipients include Grateful Dead, Jon Bon Jovi, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, Tom Petty and more.<\/p>\n
