SUPERCARS veteran Will Davison has fired up over what he believes to be a case of double standards from officials.
Davison was on the receiving end of a bump-and-run from Will Brown that went punished during the Saturday race on the Gold Coast.
The #17 Dick Johnson Racing driver later copped a series of whacks from Matt Payne that also went unpunished.
But when he returned serve on the Grove star, Davison was slapped with a five-second penalty that demoted him from ninth on the road to 13th.
“Worked very hard for a P9 finish today,” Davison wrote via social media last night.
“To be unfairly punished and given a penalty after being hit the lap before in the same way, not once but three corners in a row.
“Was also hit out of the way at the same corner early by Brown.
“Double standards and very confusing. After the year I’ve had, today has really pissed me off and is not right.
“Anyway, big night for the team and all my thoughts are with getting BK and team getting back to have a crack tomorrow.”
The DJR crew did manage to pull off a miracle to get the #38 Mustang of BK (i.e. Brodie Kostecki) back on track today after a mammoth crash in Saturday qualifying.
