A 19-year-old man has been critically injured after falling from a roof in Dunedin’s student quarter.

Police said they believed he fell while trying to take a group photo.

Emergency services were called to a property on Castle Street just after 10pm on Monday night.

The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition, a police spokesperson said.

“Police are making enquiries into the incident.”

Police had earlier been called to the street for crowd control.

St John said it responded with one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle.
