Zepp Health has launched the T-Rex 3 Pro at an event on the opening day of IFA Berlin. The watch comes in 44mm and 48mm sizes, with a titanium alloy build, sapphire glass, dual-band GPS, offline maps with turn-by-turn navigation and a built-in flashlight. We were there to see it all first-hand.
Built to handle more than just trails
The tough watch got even tougher. Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro builds on the previous generation by going harder on durability and outdoor readiness. This time you’re getting Grade 5 titanium alloy for the bezel and buttons, along with sapphire glass covering the screen. That’s not just cosmetic. The materials are built to take a lot of abuse, from ice-covered mountain trails to the occasional hard knock on jagged rock.
Having reviewed the first generation device, this one doesn’t actually feel too different in the hand. Lightweight like its predecessor. But it’s reasurring to know it has even more ruggedness.

More interestingly, the first time in the range – there are two case sizes to choose from. A 48mm and 44mm. Finally, those with small wrists can have a nice fitting T-Rex on their wrist.
The larger version comes with a 1.5 inch AMOLED, while the smaller has a 1.32 inch screen. Both can hit up to 3000 nits peak brightness, which is pretty good. As you’d expect from the T Rex range, battery life is solid too – stretching up to 25 days on the bigger variant, and 17 days on the smaller one.
A useful addition is a dual-color LED flashlight built directly into the casing. This is another first for Zepp Health. The feature supports white light with boost mode, red light for low interference, SOS flashing and safety alerts. It’s actually similar to what Garmin includes on the recent Fenix series watches, and will likely appeal to runners and hikers who head out early or stay out late. You don’t really miss this feature until you have used it a few times. It is then that you realise how useful it actually is.
Maps and navigation go fully offline
Another shift is in navigation. T-Rex 3 Pro supports offline maps with turn-by-turn guidance, route creation and smart rerouting. You can search for points of interest, and ski maps are also included, showing slopes, lifts and trail colors.
Dual-band GPS plus support for six satellite systems ensures better location accuracy in tricky environments. This, paired with a stronger antenna design, should make the watch more reliable for alpine or forest use.
Voice capabilities are also getting a boost. A built-in mic and speaker allow for Bluetooth calling and integration with Zepp Flow for hands-free voice commands.
Health tools and ecosystem support
Sport modes now number over 180, including dedicated profiles for trail running, strength training with rep detection, recreational scuba diving and HYROX competition formats. The addition of the BioCharge system is also worth noting, along with all the latest Zepp Health sensors. For those not in the know, BioCharge is a dynamic energy score based on workouts, recovery and stress. It doesn’t just track numbers but tries to give users a broader view of their physical state throughout the day. It replaces the old recovery score.
The T-Rex 3 Pro also integrates with the Helio Strap and Helio Ring, forming part of Zepp Health’s broader performance ecosystem. All data filters through the Zepp Health app, still subscription-free, and accessible on both Android and iOS. New third-party integrations are said to be on the way.
Pricing, colors and availability
T-Rex 3 Pro starts at $399 in the US. The 48mm Tactical Black is available immediately through Amazfit.com, with the Black Gold model arriving later in September. The 44mm versions, in Black Gold and a Gold/Gray combo, are due in Q4.
The price increase as compared to the T-Rex 3 is noteworthy. But you are getting a few additions, in terms of more premium and rugged build, flashlight, better navigation, BioTracker 6.0 PPG sensor and a few other bits and pieces.
