Tessa Thompson’s ranking of the MCU movies that she’s starred in may surprise some fans.
Thompson plays Valkyrie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character first debuted in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok before she then appeared in both 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. She also had a minor role in 2023’s The Marvels.
What is Tessa Thompson’s ranking for her MCU movies?
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen, Thompson was asked if she could rank the MCU movies that she’s starred in from favorite to least favorite.
“Thor: Ragnarok [first],” Thompson answered. “Thor: Love and Thunder. Avengers: Endgame. I know I’m going to get in trouble for that, but that’s my emotional truth.”
While MCU fans can debate if they feel Thor: Ragnarok or Avengers: Endgame should be on top of that list, the surprising bit here is Thor: Love and Thunder, as that movie wasn’t nearly as well-received as the other two. The Taika Waititi-directed Marvel Studios movie received mixed reviews from critics, as it currently has a 63 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
It did, however, still make plenty of money at the box office, as it grossed around $760.9 million worldwide, making it the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2022.
There’s been no word regarding whether Thompson will be returning to the MCU anytime soon, as her name was not one of those who appeared when the initial cast for Avengers: Doomsday, which arrives in December 2026, was announced. There’s still the possibility that she could show up in that movie or the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, though nothing is official at this time.
In the meantime, Thompson now stars in Hedda, which is available to stream on Prime Video. Written and directed by Nia DaCosta, the movie is based on Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler and also stars Nina Hoss, Imogen Poots, and Tom Bateman.
