Westcon-Comstor has announced that it will become an authorised distributor for Nutanix in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

This agreement expands Westcon-Comstor’s data centre offerings across the region, bringing Nutanix’s hybrid multi-cloud technology to a wider ecosystem of resellers and managed services providers.

Nutanix joins Westcon-Comstor’s established portfolio of vendors, which already includes Cisco Systems, Pure Storage, and Splunk. Integration of these platforms together is expected to enable resellers to deliver multi-vendor solutions to customers dealing with changing demands in cloud infrastructure and virtualisation.

Hybrid cloud demand

According to Westcon-Comstor, the partnership comes as demand grows for flexible and scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure in response to evolving customer requirements and increased investment in artificial intelligence services.

“As hybrid cloud continues to evolve, combined with AI driving more investment in this space, we are seeing partners wanting to provide flexible infrastructure solutions as their customers reassess their technology strategies,” said Dave Rosenberg, Managing Director, Westcon-Comstor, New Zealand. “Our agreement with Nutanix ensures our partners have access to expert guidance and flexible solutions that support their business models and customer needs. Nutanix’s platform adds to our growing portfolio of hybrid infrastructure solutions and aligns with our vision to deliver future-ready solutions..”

Westcon-Comstor brings experience in offering packaged services, such as prebuilt servers, FlashStack deployments, and on-site installations. These are aimed at allowing reseller partners to concentrate on the strategic delivery of projects rather than the logistics of system implementation.

Expanded vendor collaboration

The company’s multivendor approach incorporates technology from other providers including VMware by Broadcom and Cohesity. By integrating products from these vendors with Nutanix’s platform, Westcon-Comstor says it can offer a comprehensive suite of solutions for data centre management, IaaS deployments, and hyperconverged infrastructure projects.

Westcon-Comstor aims to simplify deployment and support for regional partners through direct access to technical support, resources, and guidance. Partners evaluating Nutanix software or looking to invest in infrastructure solutions-across areas like hypervisor, compute, networking, storage, and data protection-will be able to receive assistance from the distributor to match specific business and technical requirements.

Partner support

In addition to deployment resources, Westcon-Comstor plans to provide enablement programmes, technical training, and go-to-market support. These initiatives are positioned to help partners build and expand their Nutanix-based service offerings.

Nutanix’s hybrid multi-cloud platform allows organisations to run applications and store data on-premises, in co-location data centres, or within public cloud providers. The platform is intended to streamline infrastructure management and help organisations manage costs, reduce complexity, and increase the resilience of their data systems.
