According to CNN

Don’t believe those who try to convince you that the Grammys dislike Taylor Swift simply because she didn’t make this year’s list of nominees.

Although the release ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ wasn’t to everyone’s taste, its absence from the announced nominations on Friday was due to technical nuances, not the artistry of the work.

To be eligible for the 68th Grammy Awards competition, the release had to come out between August 31, 2024 and August 30, 2025.

‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ released on October 3, simply wasn’t eligible to participate in the competition.

Of course, this did not stop some viewers from suddenly getting upset about the alleged omission.

Context and the upcoming Grammy cycle

As a reminder: Swift has 58 Grammy nominations and 14 wins in her career.

In 2024 she made history as the first artist to win the Album of the Year award four times, thanks to her 2022 album ‘Midnights’.

So don’t despair: roughly a year from now, fans can expect new announcements about the 2026 ceremony.

The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony will be held live at the Crypto.com Arena in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1.
