Lando Norris has extended his lead in the F1 drivers’ standings with victory in the São Paulo Grand Prix.

The McLaren driver, who started the day nine points clear of team-mate Oscar Piastri, goes into the final three races with a 24-point cushion over the Australian, with 83 points available.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, who finished an astonishing third behind Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli after starting from the pit lane, is now 49 points off the pace.

In the constructors’ championship, it was a bad day for Ferrari as they suffered a double retirement with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, the Scuderia dropping to fourth.

Mercedes, with Antonelli second and team-mate George Russell fourth, is now 32 points clear of Red Bull in the battle for second behind champions McLaren.
