The Social Security Administration (SSA) has launched a new tool designed to give millions of Americans easier access to their personal information and benefits.

According to a blog post from the SSA, the new online tool is called my Social Security and already, 97 million people are using the service.

This portal is a secure, convenient way for everyone, whether they’re currently receiving benefits or not, to manage their information and interact with the SSA 24/7.

“You don’t have to be retired, or even close to retirement, to take advantage of it,” the blog post reads. “It is the most convenient way to do business with us, from anywhere and from any device.”

The SSA has also made several new features that accountholders can use around the clock including:

Viewing their online “Social Security Statement” with age-based and earnings-based fact sheets

Viewing their Benefit Verification Letter

Viewing their form SSA-1099

In addition to these new options, the SSA also expanded its 24/7 access for many existing features, meaning Americans can securely manage their information and interact with the SSA whenever it’s most convenient for them.

The features include the ability to:

View their benefits and payment information

View their voluntary tax withholding information

Read messages in the Message Center

View their direct deposit information

View their current address information

View and update their preference selection

View and update special notice options

Access the Upload Documents tool

Access i454 for Continuing Disability Reviews

View their appointed representative payee selection

People can also receive personalized estimated benefits for their retirement, a spouse’s benefits and a letter confirming they are not receiving benefits.
