The Legislative Department has successfully wrapped up the main phase of Special Campaign 5.0, which ran from October 2 to October 31, 2025. This initiative focused on enhancing cleanliness, improving record management, and ensuring the timely resolution of pending matters within the department. Under the guidance of the Nodal Officer for the campaign, the department made notable strides in addressing public grievances, reviewing old records, and enhancing overall office management.
Key Activities of the Campaign
Throughout the campaign, several significant activities were undertaken to achieve its goals. One of the primary focuses was the Special Campaign for the Disposal of Pending Matters (SCPDM) 5.0, which aimed to clear backlogs and improve efficiency. The Legislative Department also initiated the identification of electronic items for e-waste disposal, promoting environmental responsibility. Additionally, officers from the department visited the Digitization Unit to enhance their understanding of digital record management.
Workshops were organized to address e-waste management, emphasizing the importance of sustainability in the workplace. The campaign also prioritized cleanliness and effective record management, leading to the weeding out of outdated files and records stored in the department’s record room. Furthermore, a list of Gazette of India and State Act volumes was prepared for transfer to the National Archives of India, ensuring the preservation of important historical documents.
Ministerial Oversight and Community Engagement
Hon’ble Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal actively reviewed the progress of the Special Campaign 5.0 activities within the Legislative Department. The campaign also included a successful e-auction of scrap items, which not only cleared space but also generated revenue. A cleanliness drive was conducted outside the Shastri Bhawan building, reinforcing the campaign’s commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
In addition to these activities, the department undertook a wall painting initiative as a best practice to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the workplace. The transfer of records to the National Archives of India was another critical aspect of the campaign, ensuring that valuable historical records are preserved for future generations. The department also organized a workshop on National Cyber Security, highlighting the importance of safeguarding digital information.
Monitoring and Future Commitments
The Nodal Officer for Special Campaign 5.0 closely monitored the progress of all activities to ensure that targets were met in a timely manner. The initiatives undertaken during the campaign have led to improved efficiency, better record management, and a cleaner, more organized work environment. The Legislative Department has reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of Swachhata (cleanliness) and Good Governance, aligning with the broader vision of the Government of India’s Special Campaign 5.0.
The department’s efforts reflect a dedication to enhancing operational effectiveness while promoting environmental sustainability and community engagement. As the campaign concludes, the Legislative Department looks forward to continuing its work in these areas, ensuring that the values of cleanliness and good governance remain at the forefront of its operations.
