Kate Middleton is sharing a look into how she and her family spent their summer vacation.

Princess Kate and Prince William, both 43, paid a visit to the National Federation of Women’s Institutes in London on Monday, Sept. 8. During their visit, the royal couple enjoyed some baked goods — including brownies, a favorite of William’s — and spent some time chatting with WI members, who asked a little bit about their children.

Kate said she and her kids — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — spent their summer “crafting in every corner of the house.” She also spoke with the women about her beekeeping hobby and the importance of “making and crafting” in forming community with others.

The Princess of Wales has previously shared a bit of her children’s talent for art, posting portraits of her done by all three kids to social media back in February. She shared a look into George, Charlotte and Louis’ developing artistic styles as part of her Shaping Us initiative from The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which highlights the importance of creative play in child development.

“The @earlychildhood Shaping Us Framework describes the social and emotional skills which start to develop in early childhood,” read the caption of her Instagram post. “These skills are key throughout our lives, shaping who we are, how we manage our thoughts and emotions, how we communicate with and relate to others, and how we explore the world around us.”

“Drawing portraits with children can provide a moment of connection as you spend time looking at and focusing on one another, as well as being creative and – most importantly – having lots of fun together!” it continued.

During Monday’s visit, Prince William also shared a bit about the sibling dynamic between his three children. When asked if Prince Louis is “a bit of a handful,” William admitted that appearances can be deceiving.

“He’s a character, but he’s a very good boy. He likes to wind his brother and sister up,” he said.

The proud father joked that Prince George only appears to be the more “sensible” one in public.

“When George is behind closed doors, it’s completely different. George just knows how to behave,” Prince William said with a smile.

Prince William and Princess Kate are back to their royal duties following the children’s return to school last week. This year will be the last that George, Charlotte and Louis will all be enrolled together at Lambrook School, as Prince George will age out of the coeducational prep school next summer when he turns 13.

While the family hasn’t yet made an official announcement about where he will attend next, Prince William’s alma mater, Eton College, has been thought to be the most likely choice.
