Apple Intelligence expands to many new languages in iOS 26.1

Apple Intelligence recently entered its second year of availability, with the first features having debuted late last October in iOS 18.1.

At launch, Apple Intelligence supported only US English, but Apple has steadily added new languages over time.

Now, iOS 26.1 brings one of the biggest expansions to date, with eight new languages supported.

Here are the new Apple Intelligence languages:

Chinese (traditional)

Danish

Dutch

Norwegian

Portuguese (Portugal)

Swedish

Turkish

Vietnamese

In total, there are now 16 languages supported, not counting the various localized versions available for certain languages.

The full list, per Apple’s website, includes: English, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese.

For those just trying out Apple Intelligence for the first time, iOS 26 recently brought 20+ new AI features to iPhone users, and even bigger changes are expected in the months ahead as part of iOS 26.4 and iOS 27.

The former release is expected to bring Siri’s long-delayed AI upgrades, while rumors for the latter recently started spreading.
