• ‘He’s a proper staying horse’: Preusker has another Surprise in store for Melbourne Cup
Prebble was dislodged in a 2000m race at Warrnambool on Tuesday after his mount Pulveriser fell at the 700m mark.
After taking initial evidence stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons for the gelding falling near the 700m and if any action is to be taken against Pulveriser.
A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained minor laceration to the near fore elbow and a sample was taken for analysis.
A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.
Pulveriser settled second last in the run and raced largely in isolation prior to the fall. No other horse or jockey appeared to be involved in the incident.
