It looks like Megadeth’s upcoming farewell tour will be lengthy one. During a recent chat with Kerrang!, frontman Dave Mustaine revealed that the trek could last “for another three to five years.”

Mustaine told the publication the following:

“I think when things happen like the throat cancer, or my neck being fused, or the saturnine palsy in my arm, most people would stop. Most people would be terrified, and I did step back and regroup. But this is what I love doing, and I know that at some point the time is going to come for our last show.”

“We’re easily talking about touring for another three to five years. And if we’re going to be doing it for that long then, shit, I’ll be looking at the birthday I don’t even want to think about!”

“I’m not caught up in longevity and stuff like that, and being one of those guys who can play until he’s in his 80s. I have to remember that people live and they die. And I need to take good care of myself.”
