When Adaora, a 32-year-old marketing executive in Lagos, walked out of her doctor’s office with a paper lab referral, she thought getting her tests done would be easy. Instead, she struggled through long queues, waited days for results and had to go back physically to get her results. Her doctor, meanwhile, had no idea whether the tests were ever done, a common reality in a healthcare system where most hospitals lack full diagnostic capacity, and referrals are still done on paper.

That broken link between doctors, patients, and labs is what Chekker is fixing.

Founded in 2022, Chekker helps Nigerians access affordable, reliable medical diagnostics by connecting them directly to verified laboratories. Its platform lets patients compare test options, book appointments, and receive results digitally. But while this solved access for patients, one problem remained: doctors had no way to stay involved once they made the referral.

Now, with the launch of the Chekker App for Doctors, that’s changing.

The new app gives medical professionals the ability to:

Select a trusted lab from Chekker’s verified network.

Choose and book the appropriate tests for each patient instantly.

Track the progress and receive results digitally.

“We built Chekker to make diagnostics easy and accessible for everyone,” said Victor Emaye, Founder & CEO of Chekker. “The Chekker App takes our mission further, giving doctors control and visibility throughout the testing process, while ensuring patients actually complete their diagnostic journey seamlessly.”

How it works

During a consultation, the doctor identifies the need for diagnostic testing.

Within the app, the doctor selects the preferred lab and specific tests to be conducted.

The patient receives a booking confirmation, makes payment and proceeds to the chosen lab (or books home sample collection).

Once the test is completed, the results are uploaded and shared securely with the doctor and patient.

By digitising this entire chain, Chekker is making diagnostics transparent, trackable, and doctor-led. Patients gain convenience and trust; doctors gain control; labs gain consistent, verified bookings.

The Chekker App for Doctors is now live on the App Store and Google Play Store. Onboarding is open to hospitals, clinics, and private practitioners across Nigeria.

With this launch, Chekker is moving Nigeria closer to a connected healthcare future, one where diagnostics are fast, paperless, and guided by medical expertise from start to finish.
