As revealed in the Scream 7 trailer, Sidney Prescott’s daughter is named Tatum — which is, of course, the name of Sidney’s ill-fated best friend in the first Scream.
Original Tatum actress Rose McGowan spoke to Scream Obsessed about the unexpected tribute.
“Sidney naming her baby Tatum, it’s made my heart happy and I know it’s made many others happy. It feels right and good. Tatum lives,” she winks.
“I think Scream is one of the greatest fandoms in the world. I know I’m biased, but I believe this is true,” McGowan adds.
Neve Campbell returns as Sidney with Isabel May as Tatum Prescott in Scream 7, in theaters February 27 via Paramount.
In the latest installment in the slasher saga, when a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target.
Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.
Alongside Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown are set to return.
Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, Anna Camp, Ethan Embry, Mark Consuelos, Michelle Randolph, and Jimmy Tatro round out the cast.
Kevin Williamson, writer of Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4, directs from a script by Guy Busick (Scream 2022, Scream VI).
