The Queensland racing industry is mourning the death of trainer Leanne Hartley who has passed away after a training accident.
Emergency services were called to Ilbogan Road in Beaudesert around 11.30am on Wednesday after reports of a woman being struck by an animal.
Leanne Hartley sustained life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
Hartley had a small team of horses, with her best-performed in recent times being Crackenthorpe which won two races on the Sunshine Coast.

“Our sincerest condolences are extended to Leanne’s family and friends, and our thoughts are with them during this tragic time,” Racing Queensland Acting CEO Lachlan Murray said.
“We expect every participant to be able to come home safe and sound and it is heartbreaking that we have lost one of our own today.”
Despite operating a boutique stable, Ms Hartley was in the winners’ stall twice this year with Crackenthorpe breaking his maiden on the Sunshine Coast before winning a Class 1 at the same track two starts later.
Having won a Deagon trial last week, Crackenthorpe was nominated to resume at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.
