ForbesNYT Connections Hints And Answers For Tuesday, November 25 (#898)By Kris HoltForbesNYT Connections: Today’s Answers Explained (Tuesday, November 25, #898)By Kris Holt
It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means: it’s time for another round of Connections!
I’m not immune from the occasional typo in this here column. Drafting what I write here in Windows Notepad (it’s a habit, don’t judge me) probably doesn’t help me catch spelling errors. I fix those as soon as I can after someone flags them to me. Typos are annoying, but not the end of the world.
But I do regret and get upset with myself over bigger mistakes, such as in a recent edition of this column in which I accidentally left all the answers in the section where I reveal the day’s category titles. I’m sure that spoiled that day’s game of Connections for some people and it’s not the first time I’ve made that error. I literally have one job to do with this column. I apologize for that, and will try to be more diligent about avoiding such screw ups.
Before we start, I want to mention the great community we have on Discord, where we chat about Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. It’s a lovely, welcoming group of folks. I like to call it our cozy little corner of the internet. You’re more than welcome to join us. Don’t be shy!

Today’s NYT Connections hints and answers for Wednesday, November 26 are coming right up. Let’s get rolling!
NYT Connections – How To Play
Connections is a free New York Times daily word game that you can play on the NYT’s website or Games app. If you have an NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the Connections archive, which includes every previous game.
Connections presents you with a grid of 16 words (sometimes phrases, symbols or numbers). The aim is to arrange them into four groups of four. You don’t know how they hit together or what the category for each group is: that’s what you have to figure out.
There’s only one correct solution and there are often red herrings. You can guess incorrectly three times. A fourth wrong guess, and it’s game over.
Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to deduce, followed by blue, green and purple. Often, the yellow and green groups have synonyms, the blues have cultural references and the purples have some kind of wordplay involved. But this is not a hard and fast rule. Be ready for curveballs – part of the fun of Connections is in how the NYT shakes things up to keep you on your toes.
As with Wordle and similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends using an emoji-based grid. The game tracks your progress too.
Many players take pride in having long win streaks or getting a reverse rainbow – correctly guessing the purple, blue, green and yellow groups in that order with no mistakes. That adds an extra little challenge.

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today’s Connections answers.
This is your last chance to look away.
This is your final warning!
Today’s Connections answers are…
🟨 Yellow group — verbs expressing possibility (CAN, COULD, MAY, MIGHT)🟩 Green group — women’s nicknames (DEB, JAN, KAT, SUE)🟦 Blue group — financial abbreviations (APR, CFO, IRA, SEC)🟪 Purple group — backwards animals (FLOW, GOD, MAR, TAB)
We’re getting a few funky games in a row in the lead up to tomorrow’s 900th edition of Connections as we have lots of short words today. The abbreviated months (JAN, MAR, APR and MAY) seemed like a red herring to me, because I spotted the finance terms in no time for the blues.
The yellows were up next. COULD and MIGHT made those very clear to me. JAN and DEB then made the greens stand out.
A good thing, too, as I was left scratching my head for the purple connection. I don’t think I ever would have figured that out, so I’ll happily take that group as the leftovers.
Fun one today. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us tomorrow. My winning streak is now at 270 and I hope it remains that way after the U.S. edition of Thanksgiving on Thursday.

P.S. I’ve had this song in my head for a couple of days. Sharing tracks that get stuck in my noggin as recommendations here help purge them from my internal RAM. So, I’m doing that.
“Swing Swing” was one of The All-American Rejects’ first hits. It’s not quite my favorite of theirs (that would be “Move Along”). Still, it’s a catchy, fun song that takes me back to my youth:
Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Be kind to yourself and each other! Call someone you love!
Please follow my blog for more NYT Connections hints and help with other word games, and even some video game news, insights and analysis. It helps me out a lot!
