Netflix is refreshing its catalogue once again, and this month is shaping up to be a good one. With the release of the fifth series of Stranger Things and Emily in Paris, the next month looks certain to keep viewers happy. Alongside this, Netflix will see Kate Winslet’s directorial debut, which is a Christmas drama is set to drop on the platform come Christmas Eve, and Rowan Atkinson is back on our screens in a new series. Here are my top four picks for December on Netflix.
The series synopsis reads: “After a job looking after a high-tech mansion ended in disaster thanks to an irritating insect in Man vs Bee, Trevor Bingley (Rowan Atkinson) has left the stressful world of housesitting for the quieter life of a school caretaker. That is, until a lucrative offer to look after a luxury London penthouse over Christmas proves too tempting to resist.
“But on the last day of term, when no one comes to collect the Baby Jesus from the school nativity, Trevor finds himself with another undersized and very unexpected companion. Goodbye June is a Christmas drama film directed by Kate Winslet in her directorial debut, from a screenplay written by her son Joe Anders. It stars an ensemble cast that includes Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, Helen Mirren, and Winslet herself. The film’s plot follows: “Four siblings whose lives change when their ailing mother takes a turn for the worse over the holiday season.”
