John Cena will say goodbye to professional wrestling on December 13, participating in Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington DC and having the chance to say goodbye to WWE Universe in a way worthy of his greatness. Having made history in the business both in and out of the ring, Triple H and WWE management have given their best to make his farewell tour as thrilling as possible and have not been afraid to take risks with surprising decisions (such as his shocking heel turn during the spring).
The 17-time world champion pushed his body beyond his own limits, demonstrating all his boundless love for wrestling once again and leaving insiders speechless on several occasions. The leader of ‘Cenation’ really has nothing more to prove and this is the right time to close such an important chapter of his life, wanting to devote his time only to his career in Hollywood from now on.
John Cena’s last match promised history
The veteran from Boston was one of the stars of the Survivor Series tonight, having faced young ace Dominik Mysterio in a new match that awarded the Intercontinental Championship. At the same time, everyone’s attention is already turned towards the final match of his career which is only a couple of weeks away.
In a recent interview with Meghan Morant, Stephanie McMahon made a really important announcement revealing that she will be the one to comment on the final match of Cena’s career alongside Joe Tessitore: “I’m actually co-hosting with Joe Tessitore, so I’m going to have to keep my emotions in check a bit.”
She also added: “I haven’t really thought about how I’m going to feel — I’ve only been thinking about John. But I have to say, I’ve had the most unbelievable blessings in my life. To be there, to witness a star be born and then see that star go out on their shield, so to speak — it’s such a privilege. It’s something I can’t really put into words. I’ve never really thought about it from my perspective.”
