ITM’s naming rights deal for the Supercars event in Taupō began in 2024, but the company has been a prominent supporter of Supercars’ visits to New Zealand since 2010. The building supplies and hardware retailer previously supported events in Hamilton and Pukekohe.

Supercars recently confirmed a second annual race in New Zealand, with Christchurch’s Ruapuna Raceway set to host the championship from 2026 to 2028. The event will mark Supercars’ debut on the South Island and follows the series’ recent extension of its media rights deal with Sky New Zealand until 2028.

Comment:

“We’re thrilled to be naming rights sponsor for both Taupō and Christchurch,” said Chris Booth, ITM’s general manager of sales and marketing.

“As New Zealand’s largest independent building supply network, we’re present from the Far North to Southland. This double header is a monumental moment for motorsport, and we’re proud to stand behind it.

“Supporting the ITM Christchurch Super 440 reflects our commitment to connecting with Kiwis. On the job site, in our communities, and trackside. We’re excited to help bring world-class motorsport to more fans and regions.”

Supercars chief executive James Warburton added: “ITM’s commitment to Supercars has helped shape some of the most memorable moments in our New Zealand history.

“Their support of both Taupō and Christchurch ensures fans across both islands will experience world-class racing and unforgettable entertainment.”
