Veteran South Korean actor Cho Jin Woong recently came under massive controversy after he announced his retirement from the entertainment industry, after past misconduct claims against the actor coming to light. Now, a documentary filmmaker has come forward with disturbing allegations of physical assault made against Cho Jin Woong that have shocked netizens. Heo Chul Accuses Cho Jin Woong Of Physical Assault
On December 7th, documentary filmmaker Heo Chul shared an elaborate post on social media describing an incident involving Cho Jin Woong that took place in 2014. According to the director, Heo Chul was assaulted when he was sitting in a moving car during filming. He claimed that Cho Jin Woong suddenly attacked him across the face multiple times before he was restrained by other people around them. Heo Chul also claims that he had never met the actor before this day.
Heo further claimed that after the incident, Cho broke down in tears but never offered an apology. He said that despite repeated attempts to reach out to the manager to receive a formal apology from Jin Woong, he never received one. Heo Chul also alleged that another young actor was assaulted by Cho the same night. The director said that the incident was very traumatic and affected him deeply.
However, what confused netizens about this post was that at the end, Heo Chul wrote that Cho should reconsider his retirement and return to acting after reflecting on his actions. Some thought that his concluding words were sarcastic, while others started to question the validity of his claims.

Previously, media reports have claimed that Cho Jin Woong was implicated in alleged theft and sexual misconduct incidents during his adolescence in the mid-1990s. Netizens believe that the actor announced his retirement due to his past resurfacing. As public reaction remains divided, neither Cho Jin Woong nor his agency has issued a response specifically addressing Heo Chul’s latest claims.
