A new update on The Penguin Season 2 has fans excited for the potential second season of the hit HBO series.

What’s the latest The Penguin Season 2 update?

In a recent report on the potential Netflix acquisition of Warner Bros. and what it means for DC, Bloomberg briefly talks about the future of DC Studios. The report mentions films like Superman and the upcoming Supergirl, and also notes that a “second season of The Penguin,” as well as a “true-crime series” based on the comic book character Gorilla Grodd, are both in the works.

While the news is far from confirmed, the information did send fans into a theory frenzy. Fans online reacted positively, with many already thinking about what a potential second season of the show could include. Some began wondering about a potential showdown between The Penguin and Two-Face, while others were just happy at the thought of a Season 2.

In an interview with Happy Sad Confused’s Josh Horowitz earlier this year, Matt Reeves also confirmed that he, showrunner Lauren LeFranc, Farrell, and executive producer Dylan Clark are talking about continuing Oz’s story. In February, Farrell also said he was open to a second season, and that he would be open to keep playing the character after reprising his role in the next The Batman film.

The Penguin was a smash hit for Farrell, Warner Bros. Discovery, and all involved. The series earned critical praise and was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, with Farrell winning Best Actor — Miniseries or Television Film for his portrayal of Oswald “Oz” Cobb.
