Time has ran out (Picture: ITV/Metro)

With April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) having let the cat out of the bag in Emmerdale, Celia Daniels’ (Jaye Griffiths) operation has been on borrowed time for weeks.

Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) tried to convince Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) to leave, to run to the police and shop Celia’s whole gig to them, but Ray proved too loyal to Celia and ran the kid over with the car instead.

But the problem remained – April had told her parents the truth about everything, even the fact she killed (but didn’t really kill) Callum. Celia tried to threaten this away, but her tactics weren’t altogether successful – especially when April finds out she didn’t kill Callum after all.

Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is also a thorn in Celia’s side, cottoning on to Celia’s dodgy outfit, having discovered that Celia has been forging her signature on invoices for the turkey business.

Laurel speaks to Celia over a table at Mulberry Cottage in Emmerdale

The walls are closing in and it’s time for Celia to act fast. She and Ray begin planning to pack up shop and leg it from the area.

Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) is terrified of being left behind, but Ray assures him that won’t happen.

But with Ray’s relationship with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) blooming, and the thought of leaving her behind eating away at him, could he do something drastic to make it so that he doesn’t have to leave with his mum?

We know that Celia is most definitely leaving, but there’s no talk of Ray disappearing just yet.

Actress Jaye Griffiths recently spoke about her character bowing out of the soap, confirming Celia’s demise.

‘I knew it was finite, which I am very sad about, because I would like to stay forever, but it’s such a strong arc,’ she revealed to Metro.

But how? Jaye confessed that it’s unlikely to be a prison story for the drug trafficker, will she simply go on the run? Seems a bit of an anti-climax for such a huge character. But she’ll do what it takes to keep her freedom, at what cost?

‘The idea that she would get caught is inconceivable,’ Jaye said. ‘No, she will move blame. She will throw anyone under the bus before herself. I mean, no, she’s not going to prison! Get out of her way, is what I’m saying!’

Can’t wait for the next twist?

‘Celia doesn’t mark Christmas’, the star added.

‘And this year she is planning on them leaving the area. As it has all got too complicated, April’s family are an irritant to her and things are also getting complicated business wise as Moira is becoming troublesome by asking too many questions.

‘But more alarmingly Ray has gone and fallen in love. So she’s extricating them to another area. It is clear that this is something they have done before – find another farm in another location and set up their enterprise again.’
