The first-placed Adelaide 36ers have received a massive boost on the eve of their top of the table clash with Melbourne United.

9 News Adelaide’s Will Crouch is reporting star import Zylan Cheatham and the 36ers are in advanced talks on a multi-year extension.

The 30-year-old forward, who is averaging 12.5 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game for the 36ers, has been a key factor in helping the 36ers’ start the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season with a 13-3 record.

By extending his time in the City of Churches, Cheatham would join a core group featuring five-time MVP Bryce Cotton, Isaac Humphries, Flynn Cameron, Dejan Vasiljevic, Isaac White, Ben Griscti and Michael Harris (option) contracted beyond the 2025-26 campaign.
