“We’ve dazzled the crowds but we’ve missed family too.
“My full gratitude doesn’t come from a bank but here is a [bleeped out] dollars just to say thanks, love, Taylor.”
Crew members appeared astonished, with many breaking down in tears, and one who said he felt like passing out.
Pop singer Taylor Swift thanks her The Eras Tour support staff with generous bonus cheques.
Viewers took to social media to speculate how much the crew received in bonuses.
“It looks like he’s saying $750,000,” said one.
“They may have bleeped that but the dancers absolutely got 750k each,” another said.
“Before you open your ones, I just want to say you guys, this leg of the tour has been harder than anything I’ve ever done in a live setting,” Swift, 36, said from the centre of the group huddle on ‘bonus day’.
“You guys have taken this on with such excitement, such curiosity and the endurance you’ve shown.
“How much you’ve given to these crowds, that gives to me every single night.
“The tour has done really well thanks to all of our hard work.”
In the episode, Swift explained how important it was to her to reward her loyal team.
“Because people who work on the road, if the tour grosses more, they get more of a bonus, and these people just work so hard and they are the best at what they do.”
The 21-month, 149-show tour travelled to 21 countries and is the highest grossing concert tour ever, raking in over $2 billion.
It is understood Swift held a ‘bonus day’ at the conclusion of each major leg of the tour; there were five legs in total.
Swift appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week and shared that she used the proceeds of the tour to buy back her recording masters.
“My fans are why I was able to get my music back.
“That’s how I spent that Eras Tour money.”
