The 33-year-old pop star went bare-faced in a video shared to her Instagram Story on Tuesday (December 16), where she amused her followers by revealing how she responded to someone who asked her, “How do you shave your mustache?”

Selena said she “totally” understood what the person was referring to, pointing out the slightly darker patch of skin above her lip and clarifying that it isn’t hair, but melasma.
“I take care of it and I treat it, but yeah no, it’s there,” said the “Bluest Flame” singer.
Melasma is a minor skin condition that can cause skin discoloration and is often triggered by sun exposure, which Selena confirmed is the cause of hers.
“I actually have melasma and a pimple. It’s actually from the sun, so you’ll have to obviously wear sunscreen and be careful,” she added.
