In June, Cruickshank suffered a miscarriage.
She is now nearly four months pregnant.
Sera Cruickshank is grateful to be expecting a healthy baby going into summer.
“After a rollercoaster year, I am just so happy going into Christmas and the holidays, with the knowledge we will bring another precious addition to our blended family next year,” Cruickshank says.
“We found out the baby’s sex at 10 weeks through a blood test and feel blessed after our scan a couple of weeks ago that we are having a healthy baby.”
Cruickshank has already purchased a Stokke YOYO stroller and a Gucci baby bag.
Sera Cruickshank is preparing to welcome a boy.
In October, Cruickshank opened up to Society Insider about the backlash she has faced since going public with her relationship with Foster.
Foster was convicted in 2020 of indecently assaulting and sexually violating a colleague at a motel in Northland, after they had been assigned to help with Waitangi Day events at the Treaty Grounds in 2019.
Foster served two years of a six-year sentence and was released on electronically monitored parole in March 2022.
Cruickshank, 36, and Foster, 35, have engaged high-profile investigator Tim McKinnel, of leading investigation firm Zavést, to look into overturning Foster’s conviction.
In October, McKinnel said he was preparing applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission and the court in an attempt to overturn Foster’s conviction.
Cruickshank said at the time that clearing Foster’s name was no longer just about him. “It’s for our children, for me, and for his family,” she said.
Speaking to Society Insider today, Cruickshank had no updates on the progress of the applications, but she believes in the process they have embarked on.
Foster is currently studying at night to gain his own private investigator licence, which Cruickshank says he is doing extremely well at.
Sera Cruickshank and Jamie Foster are adding a nursery in their family villa.
By day, the trained painter and builder is renovating their house.
The couple found their dream villa across the road from the former home of The Diamond Shop on Jervois Rd.
In late September, they relocated the villa to a waterfront piece of land north of Auckland owned by Foster.
The house is still on blocks and will be lowered into the ground in the new year. They are converting one of the rooms into a nursery.
Cruickshank says after an interesting few years in business at The Diamond Shop, coming into Christmas trading has been strong and well up on last year.
By night, she says she works as hard as Foster on the renovations, and they have a schedule to have everything finished by February.
“The finished home will be a true blend of elegance and warmth – somewhere we can grow roots, make memories and call home for years to come,” she says.
The couple were in Queenstown last weekend for broadcaster Wilhelmina Shrimpton and star rugby referee Ben O’Keefe’s glamorous wedding at Ayrburn.
While the newlyweds were based at Millbrook, Cruickshank and Fraser had a smart Airbnb next door.
“We were thrilled to have time in Queenstown and have a bit of a holiday, as we will be renovating our house right through Christmas,” she says.
