W cosmetics head of brand and marketing Narae Ko said it was a landmark moment for the business.
“We’ve seen incredible appetite across the region for innovative beauty solutions, and New Zealand consumers are among the most engaged and informed in the world when it comes to skincare,” Ko said.
“This opening allows us to bring our unique retail experience and the best of Korean beauty culture to Auckland.”
The new W cosmetics flagship stores will showcase several leading brands and customer favourites, including Flower Knows, COSRX, Cocochi, TIRTIR, PUCO, Anua, Banila Co, Beauty of Joseon, Dr. G, VT Cosmetics, Goodal, d’Alba and Skin1004.
Imports of Korean skincare products have continued to rise in New Zealand, reflecting strong demand among Kiwi shoppers.
The fast-moving category has exploded on social media for its suite of science-backed beauty offerings and is especially popular on TikTok.
Ko said New Zealanders have long looked overseas for access to these products.
“With K-beauty setting global standards for innovation, New Zealand’s first W cosmetics store offers consumers a new kind of beauty experience: modern, immersive and globally connected.”
