Known for his humour, sharp satire, and social commentary, Sreenivasan scripted some of Malayalam cinema’s most iconic films, including Boeing Boeing, Sandesam, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, Varavelppu, Nadodikkattu, and Udayananu Tharam. He frequently collaborated with directors Priyadarshan, Sathyan Anthikad, and actors Mohanlal and Mammootty in his four-decade-long career.

Sreenivasan had been staying away from films for a while because of his health issues. His last on-screen appearance was in the much-delayed Nancy Rani, released earlier this year, while his last release as a writer was Paviyettante Madhoorachooral, which came out in 2018.

Sreenivasan’s sons, Vineeth and Dhyan, are both active parts of the industry, handling multiple roles, much like their multifaceted father.
