North West, the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has joined Instagram after months of receiving backlash over her edgy style choices.

The 12-year-old celebrity offspring took to Instagram on Friday, December 19, to share her “first post” featuring a blurred photo that showed North in a Balenciaga T-shirt, a black miniskirt and boots wrapped in metal chains. The pre-teen’s hair was pulled back into a slicked back bun and she threw up double peace signs.

Two days later, North shared another photo — this time covering her face with her hands.

Her caption, “🔜,” seemingly teased an upcoming project.

The tween amassed nearly half a million followers in just two days, with many fans leaving her baby photos in the comments. Other followers shared GIFs of Kanye looking disappointed, or a clip of grandma Kris Jenner’s iconic catchphrase, “You’re doing amazing, Sweetie,” from Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

North — whose bio claims the account is “managed by parents” — has come under fire in recent months for appearing to dress older than her age. Her recently bleached eyebrows, blue hair, septum piercing, bejeweled grill, risky finger piercing and fake face tattoos are just a few of the controversial moves.

“Kanye’s worried his little girl is acting up,” a source exclusively told Star in November. “[His wife] Bianca [Censori] says they need to be proactive and see the kids, especially North, who clearly needs her dad and stepmom more than ever.”
