Welcome to eclipse season, where the cosmos spares no one and nothing stays the same.
Equivalent to a cosmic gateway, eclipse portals mark the two-week window where fate accelerates, timelines shift and life-altering events begin to unfold at lightning speed. This happens twice a year when eclipses happen back-to-back within a two-week span.
Marking the last eclipse season of the year, the eclipse portal opened with a total lunar eclipse in Pisces on Sept. 7, and will be followed by a partial solar eclipse in Virgo on Sept. 21.
Intense, dramatic and often life-changing, time speeds up in this energetic tunnel with themes of endings and beginnings coming into view.
Eclipse season is approximately 35 days, where two (and sometimes three) eclipses take place. This occurs every six months when the Earth, moon and sun line up in space — according to NASA — where a lunar eclipse can occur during the full moon phase and a solar eclipse during the new moon phase.
Lunar eclipses are super potent full moons, notorious for bringing intense closure and shocking truths to light.
September’s lunar eclipse in Pisces emphasizes themes of closure, release, surrender and sacrifice. It collectively asked us to let go of illusions, outdated attachments and cycles that no longer serve our highest good.
Up next, we have the solar eclipse in Virgo happening on Sept. 21, marking a powerful new moon that in essence represents the “second act” of this eclipse story.
Solar eclipses are no different to lunar eclipses in terms of strength and potency, with the exception that they are symbolic of new beginnings.
In methodical Virgo, there is greater focus on our routines, health habits, boundaries and problem-solving, as it presents the opportunity for order and structure, specifically in the areas of life where we’ve been met with chaos and uncertainty.
Look at it this way: if the lunar eclipse in Pisces served as a time of release and surrender, the solar eclipse in Virgo is here to help us ground and rebuild with intention.
Expect breakthrough conversations, personal revelations and relationships that come to an end (or begin unexpectedly). There is nothing subtle about eclipse season.
