Football royalty and romance have collided in headline-grabbing fashion — Alan Shearer’s daughters are both engaged, and in a twist fit for the back pages, both of their future husbands are England internationals.

The Newcastle United legend, long synonymous with goals and grit, is now finding himself in the middle of a very different kind of spotlight as his family celebrations make waves across the football world.

His eldest daughter, Chloe, has accepted a proposal from former rugby star Micky Young last month.

The 33‑year‑old said yes at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle, announcing the news on Instagram with the caption: “Forever YOUNG.”

Young, 36, formerly of Newcastle Falcons, Leicester Tigers and Bath, spent much of his career in the Shearer family’s native Newcastle region.

Shearer responded simply: “About time too!!!” – and has previously quipped he’s delighted his daughters are not dating footballers, saying: “I’m just glad it’s not a footballer.”

Meanwhile, his younger daughter, Hollie, 30, is a singer and social‑media influencer with nearly 80,000 Instagram followers.

She got engaged almost a year ago to England international rugby star Joe Marchant, who plays for Stade Français in Paris.

The couple made their engagement announcement with a photo in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Hollie reposted Chloe’s announcement with the caption: “The bestest news ever. My sister’s engaged!” Brother Will also shared his congratulations via heart emojis.

Chloe works in talent management, specialising in sports events, and last year helped with the Soccer Aid event. This engagement marks the second in the Shearer family within a year.
