Veteran actor Dharmendra’s final film, Ikkis, arrived in theatres on January 1, 2026. For many moviegoers, the release was not just about watching a new film on a holiday, but about bidding farewell to a legend whose presence has shaped decades of Hindi cinema. From early morning shows, audiences gathered in large numbers, turning the opening day into an emotional moment of collective remembrance.Ikkis box office collection day-wise
As the day progressed, it became clear that Ikkis was holding its own at the box office despite stiff competition. Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continued to dominate screens across the country, yet Ikkis managed to carve out a strong opening. The film’s performance surprised many, especially given that it marks the big-screen debut of Agastya Nanda.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Ikkis earned around Rs 7 crore on its first day. This figure places it ahead of the opening-day collection of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which had earned approximately Rs 7.75 crore despite featuring established stars and heavy pre-release buzz. With an overall occupancy of 31.94 per cent, Ikkis posted impressive numbers considering the crowded festive box office and limited screen availability.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis tells the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. Dharmendra essays the role of ML Khetarpal, Arun’s father, while Agastya Nanda steps into the central role. The film also features Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia and Sikander Kher in pivotal parts.
