Peter Snowden’s gun colt Seeiaye, which is part-owned by tennis superstar Nick Kyrgios, is out of next week’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Speaking on Brisbane radio on Sunday morning, Snowden said he made the call to abort plans for a tilt at the $3 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) after the colt failed to flatter in a Rosehill trial on Friday.

Ridden by Ashley Morgan, Seeiaye overraced early in the 1030m 2YO trial, finishing a well-beaten third, more than three lengths behind the unraced David Payne-trained filly Krasina.

Seeiaye had been an $18 chance in the TAB’s fixed odds market for Saturday week’s Gold Coast feature off the back of an impressive victory in the Max Lees Classic (900m) at Newcastle on November 15 and a 4.89-length 4th behind Paradoxium, Mystical and Masvingo in the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic (1100m) on December 10.

The Bjorn Baker-trained Warwoven is the $2 favourite for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic following his arrogant victory at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

It took just four words from jockey Rachel King to sum up Warwoven’s claims on the $3 million 2YO Magic Millions Classic following the explosive colt’s demolition job at Eagle Farm on Saturday. Story: @daniel_pace17 👇https://t.co/VlHBc64Crq

The Snowden stable still has a huge chance for a Queensland feature victory in this Saturday’s $3 million Magic Millions Sunlight (1100m) via promising filly Akaysha, who has form around some of the most exciting horses in training.

Last time out before a spell, Akaysha was an unlucky fourth behind the highly-spruiked Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained filly Point Barrow in the Group 3 Red Roses Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on Oaks Day.

Akaysha finished second in successive listed races behind subsequent Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) runner-up My Gladiola and 2024 Golden Slipper winner Marhoona in December, and she also boasts a victory over highly-rated stablemate Beadman.

Following a short let-up after the spring carnival, Akaysha trialled impressively behind last year’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner O’ Ole at Rosehill on December 23 and will go into the Sunlight first-up as a $5 second-favourite behind Grafterburners ($3.50), who brought up a third successive victory with his last-start win in the Listed Gold Edition Plate (1200m).

On a big day of Magic Millions developments at Eagle Farm on Saturday, the Michael Freedman-trained Ninja firmed into $1.90 favouritism for the $3 million 3YO Guineas (1400m) Millions day after his amazing victory in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate (1300m).

Despite badly missing the start, Ninja was still far too good for his rivals and now has a stranglehold on betting for Saturday week’s three-year-old feature.

The Ciaron Maher-trained filly Icarian Dream ($8) – 12th as a $9 chance in last year’s 2YO Classic – is the only other runner under double figures for the 3YO Guineas.
