Everyone has their secrets, and it turns out Myha’la Herrold is really good at keeping hers. The Industry star married Armando Rivera, her now-husband, without telling anyone but close friends and family. She hard-launched the news on Instagram, sharing photos from their wedding day. “One year of marriage ♾️💍,” she wrote in the caption. “So if this is how you’re finding out, promise we didn’t tell most everyone 😗” The two shared photos alongside their loved ones, including their two cats. She concluded, “Endlessly grateful to our friends and family for helping make this day so very magical.”
The couple met via Instagram DM when Rivera sent Herrold a message congratulating her on the success of the show’s first season in 2020. “I was alone in the pandemic. The show had dropped and I was still alone. I was getting some messages, so I was like, ‘Let me just say thank you and be nice,’” Herrold explained in an interview with W Magazine in 2023. “I tried to weed out the ones that I thought were going to end up being creepy and invasive. His was one I responded to. I just said, ‘Thank you.’ The next morning, I woke up to this string of video messages, and I thought, ‘Damn it, I knew it was going to be creepy.’ But I went back to his profile, and I was like, ‘Oh, maybe he’s cute. He seems relatively harmless.’” In the video messages he sent her, Rivera asked if he could interview Herrold for his journalism class, as their final project was to interview a celebrity, which eventually led to a 40-minute chat. It marked the beginning of their romance and, hopefully, got Rivera an A+.
