One person has died after a crash on a rural road north of Auckland.

Police said the two-vehicle crash on Pine Valley Rd, Dairy Flat, was reported to them at 12.50pm yesterday.

Emergency services closed the road for several hours but it reopened at around 5pm yesterday.

This morning, police confirmed one person had now died after the crash.
