Leave it to Chelsea Handler to turn a European getaway into a story no one involved will ever forget.
The comedian, who recently hosted The 31st Critics’ Choice Awards, stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, January 7, where she casually revealed that she once gave a pair of strangers LSD while vacationing in Mallorca, Spain.
Handler, 50, explained that she struck up a conversation with a married couple she met on the island and learned they were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Wanting to mark the milestone in some way, she offered them the use of her kayaks.
“And I was like, ‘Woah, I can’t imagine being married to someone for 50 years. That’s incredible. I could see something special about you guys. I said, ‘I have a couple kayaks here. If you want to borrow the kayaks, I’d love to be a part of your anniversary in some capacity,’” she recalled.

The couple happily accepted, but their anniversary surprise didn’t end with a scenic paddle.
“And they got into the kayak and in my pocket I had a little LSD. I obviously asked about their health history because I’m a medical health practitioner,” Handler joked, sending both host Jimmy Fallon and the audience into laughter. “I said, ‘Have either of you had any heart issues or strokes or anything?’”
Handler explained she offered the couple what she described as a “tiny microdose”: “I said, ‘Listen you don’t have to do it, but if you want to do it.’ They said, ‘We’re having a really good night.’ I said, ‘It could get better.’”
Handler admitted she handed over the microdose and went on with her vacation, forgetting about the couple, until the next morning.

Sitting on her terrace at 7:30 a.m., she noticed kayaks approaching. “I’m like, ‘That looks like my kayak,’” Handler said.
Soon enough, the couple climbed out, waved to her, and came upstairs to see her.
“I opened the door to my terrace and the man said to me, ‘Hey, I told you that we were having a great night and you told me you could make our night better and guess what? You did.’”
Handler said the man went on to describe how the couple spent the next 10 hours talking, reminiscing and reconnecting.

“He said, ‘We sat in an alcove for the last 10 hours talking about the most beautiful memories we ever had in our wedding, we talked about our children.’ He said, ‘We renewed our vows to each other.’”
Then came the punchline.
“And then the woman looked at me and she put her hands on my face. It was so sweet. And then she put out her hand and said, ‘Do you have any more LSD?’” Handler recalled.
Handler then wrapped the story with a question only she could ask: “Am I healer or am I a healer?”
