Stephen Colbert’s remaining time on his late night talk show will absolutely be a laughing matter.

As the TV host, who is nominated for Outstanding Talk Series at the 2025 Emmys, heads into his final season helming The Late Show, he emphasized he and his staff are doing do with high spirits.

“We’ve got nine more months of the show and we’re going to have a really good time doing it,” Stephen told Zuri Hall on the red carpet on Live From E!: 2025 Emmys in a joint interview with his wife Evelyn McGee-Colbert. “This show is all consuming—every day. So that’s it for now.”

Beyond the energy, the 61-year-old—who is up against his former series The Daily Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! In the category—admitted he would love to see his team take home the coveted statue at the Sept. 14 ceremony.

“The people who do the show teach me what it’s like to be a professional,” he explained, “and I would be very grateful if we could win for them because they deserve all the recognition they can get. Two hundred people do the show, not just me.”
