Samsung has rolled out its September 2025 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Alongside this month’s security fixes, the new foldables receive Now bar and Samsung DeX improvements. The update should be available globally in the coming days.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7’s September update brings two key changes
Samsung’s latest foldables are currently picking up the September update in South Korea, with a wider rollout expected in the coming days. The official changelog confirms the addition of Google Finance to Naw Bar, allowing users to check stock activities right from the lock screen. Now Bar offers quick access to ongoing activities from various apps.
Additionally, this update enhances the Samsung DeX experience on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. When connected to an external display, you can now use DeX with a mouse and on-screen keyboard for added convenience. You can also add widgets to your home screen for faster access.
This is on top of regular security fixes and stability enhancements. Samsung’s September 2025 SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for Galaxy devices contains over 80 patches, some of which are critical. This update will soon be available for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, as well as other eligible models, worldwide.
For Korean Flip 7 users, the OTA (over the air) package weighs more than 700MB. The new firmware build number for the phone is F766NKSU4AYI1. The Fold model should get a similar-sized update with an identical build version. The latest firmware release also upgrades the bootloader version from 3 to 4, so users can’t roll back to older firmware after installing the September SMR.
To check for updates, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If an update shows up, hit Update and wait until the installation completes. Finally, restart your phone to run the latest firmware build.
