New Zealand age group international goalkeeper Henry Gray has joined English Football League Two club Harrogate Town on loan for the rest of the season.
Gray (20) has been under contract to English Championship side Ipswich Town since May 2023, and Town have previously loaned him to non-league clubs Chelmsford City and Braintree Town.
Gray kept nine clean sheets in 20 games for Braintree, earning the club’s Young Player of the Season award.

Of the move to Harrogate, Gray said: “It’s a step up for me, I’ve been in the National League South and in the National League and now currently at League Two, so it’s a step in the direction of where I want to get to and I can’t wait to show everyone what I can do.”

Harrogate manager Simon Weaver told BBC York: “We’re delighted to have him with us.
“He’s a talented young player who’s really hungry to do well. He went out on loan last year to Braintree and helped keep them up, and had great reviews.
“We’ve seen a lot of coverage of him and are excited about what he can bring.”

Gray has played for the national U-19, U-20 and U-23 sides and was called up to the All Whites for their two-match Soccer Ashes series in September 2025 but did not get the chance to make his full international debut.
Gray won the Golden Gloves award when playing for New Zealand at the 2022 OFC U-19 Championship in Tahiti, which the side won to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup in Argentina.
As a junior, Gray began his football journey with Upper Hutt City as a 10-year-old, before moving to Western Suburbs for youth football.
After spells with Lower Hutt City, Waterside Karori and the Wellington Phoenix, he joined Ipswich Town.
