NRLW halfback Maddie Studdon charged with stalking her ex-partner

  • January 14, 2026

“Can stop being suss and own up. You make m e [sic] go off cause what you’re doing,” said another.

“F***ing own up, you’re a cheater…explain yourself,” a third read.

“Didn’t need to use me just so you could see if something else would work,” read a fourth.

It was also reported that police claimed she placed 29 calls to the woman while on private mode, and contacted her via email.

News.com.au reported that Studdon resorted to communicating through bank transfer descriptions after her number was blocked.

The 2018 Rabbitohs Women’s Player of the Year was arrested on Tuesday after she allegedly turned up at her former partner’s home overnight to confront her.

Police said she tried to get into the woman’s car and punched the side of the vehicle while the woman called emergency services, the Daily Mail reported.

She now faces charges of stalking/intimidation with the intention of fear or physical harm (DV), and using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.

Studdon has a previous conviction for domestic violence in 2015.

In a separate incident, police moved to apply for an apprehended domestic violence order after allegations that she made a “throat-slitting gesture” towards another former partner.

Prosecutor Christopher Manning recommended to the court that Studdon, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, “posed a risk” to the alleged victim and should remain in custody.

She was granted bail after paying $5000, but was banned from using social media.

Studdon was part of the 2017 Jillaroos squad that went on to win the Women’s Rugby League Cup.

The award-winning halfback is currently unsigned. Her lawyer told the court she had a potential contract offer with the North Queensland Cowboys for next season, Fox Sports reported.

She is due to appear in Downing Centre Local Court next month.
