Gov.gr Wallet adds new features to improve control and real-time updates

The Gov.gr digital wallet has added three new features aimed at making the platform easier to use, more reliable and more transparent for citizens managing digital documents and basic procedures.

The Digital Governance Ministry said users now receive immediate notification when a digital driving license or digital identity card stored in Gov.gr Wallet is revoked. Revocations can occur in cases such as the withdrawal of a driving license by the authorities for road traffic violations or by the Infrastructure and Transport Ministry as part of an administrative process, as well as when an identity card is declared lost.

When a revocation occurs, a message appears as soon as the user opens the Gov.gr Wallet. Citizens can check which document has been revoked and attempt to add it again. If re-adding the document is not permitted, the application displays a relevant message.

Adding documents to Gov.gr Wallet has also become simpler through the automatic completion of the one-time password (OTP). With the user’s consent, the six-digit code sent by SMS now fills in automatically when it arrives on the mobile phone, reducing errors and speeding up the process.

In addition, the Public Employment Service (DYPA) Digital Card now updates in real time within the application. The card immediately shows an unemployed person’s status and includes a color indicator for easier understanding.

The Information Systems and Digital Governance General Secretariat implemented the new functions in collaboration with the Technology and Research Infrastructures National Network under the Digital Governance Ministry. The upgrade of the DYPA Digital Card took place in cooperation with the Public Employment Service.
